American Legal Nurse Consultant Certification Board
The ALNCCB certification program, founded in 1997, promotes expertise and professionalism in legal nurse consulting.
The LNCC® certification program is not intended to define who may enter or practice in the field of legal nurse consulting. Instead, it serves to promote excellence and professionalism by recognizing individuals who demonstrate a validated level of knowledge and competency in the specialty.
Certification reflects a commitment to the highest standards in legal nurse consulting and provides formal acknowledgment of performance measured against nationally established criteria.
Certification as a Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC®) demonstrates to nurse colleagues, clients, employers, and others in the medical-legal system that you are knowledgeable, experienced, and committed to the specialty of legal nurse consulting.
What is the difference between certification and a certificate?
By setting and enforcing certification standards, the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC) seeks to protect the public by promoting excellence in certification through the application of a rigorous accreditation process. This provides assurance that the nurse holding the credential from an accredited certification program possesses the knowledge, skills, and competency for quality practice within that specialty. LNCC® is the only Legal Nurse Consultant certification accredited through ABSNC and recognized by the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®. This makes it a trusted and preferred certification for Legal Nurse Consultants. There are other legal nurse educational programs which offer certificates, just understand they are not the same as a ABSNC accredited certification.
